Carol and Geoff welcome you to their French home and gîte, La Penchenerie.

Our beautifully restored stone farmhouse and attached barn oozes with charm and character dating from 1850.

It sits in over 11 acres of private woodland with gardens and terraces together with a 9m x 5m swimming pool. Here you can relax and sunbathe, swim and play with the most wonderful unspoilt views all around. During the evening enjoy a drink or a meal outside, under the stars on the grassed terrace next to the illuminated pool.

The gîte is set in attractive gardens with lawn and flowerbeds, and large grassed terraces, ideal for barbecues and al fresco dining. There is ample garden furniture including dining tables and parasols, sun loungers and pool toys. There are shady areas for sitting and a car park for 4 cars.

The holiday home is in a perfect situation, offering privacy, tranquillity, space and quality. The gîte is accessed via a quiet track with no passing traffic and total privacy is guaranteed. Set in an elevated position overlooking pine forests, vineyards and farmers fields where the pool is in sunlight all day. Enjoy a drink on the shaded grass terrace and take in the natural beauty.

All this and only 3 kms from the small but thriving town of Prayssac with its pavement cafes and restaurants and all its local amenities. Situated in the heart of the AOC Cahors wine region, Prayssac and the surrounding area offers many walks, some of which are literally on the doorstep.

Ideal for cycling and horse riding, as the roads are very quiet and scenic. Canoeing and fishing are available nearby, as are boat trips on the Lot river.

The area is a gastronomic delight, ranging from restaurants serving excellent locally produced and reasonably priced fayre, right up to Michelin star rated establishments.

Prayssac has two weekly food markets (Fri and Sun), together with a variety of fetes and festivals including music, concerts and wine tasting – neighbouring villages have similar The town has doctors and dentists and an on call ambulance service Other facilities include a tourist office, post office, optician, cinema, library (with internet access), taxis, banks, estate agents and a sports centre which has gym facilities, tennis courts and an outdoor swimming pool. Two large supermarkets are located at either end of the town.
