Pure tranquility in an idyllic setting...
Our holiday home is built in traditional stone, and is furnished to a high standard with typically old French furniture. It comfortably sleeps 10 people.
The two storey house consists of 2 double bedrooms upstairs, with a large mezzanine floor containing two single beds which can be utilised as a fifth bedroom if required.
The tastefully furnished lounge/dining has a restored stone fireplace and original stone sink. Furniture includes an oak dining table that seats up to 10 people; a comfortable sofa and chairs; English TV with DVD player and a radio, CD player, indoor games and various holiday reading material. The kitchen and bathroom, both with traditional wall tiles, are also situated downstairs.
The single storey barn, with its own separate entrance, opens into a lobby and also consists of 2 double bedrooms with a large bathroom located between. The bathroom contains a well equipped laundry. Both buildings are heated by electric wall heaters if necessary with terracotta floor tiles keeping it cool during the summer.
All bedding and towels are provided and there are ten large swimming towels available, but larger parties may need to bring some extra.
The main double bedroom is situated upstairs in the house, it is a quiet and airy large bedroom, comfortably furnished, as are all the bedrooms. It faces east and offers very pleasant views over the surrounding fields.
The second Bedroom is also upstairs in the house, it is also a large double bedroom both airy and quiet. It faces west with wonderful views of the woodland below.
On the large mezzanine between the two bedrooms, we have two single beds which can be used if required. Perfect for any children that may be in the party. It is south facing and overlooks the terraced courtyard and lawn.
The barn has been lovingly restored into two additional bedrooms. They are large and spacious, with exposed stone walls.
In the third bedroom, french windows open out to afford wonderful views of the grass terrace, swimming pool, flower beds and the sloping woodland beyond. Another window gives west facing views of the woodland below.
Our fourth bedroom, complete with grande armoire (large French dresser), has lovely west facing views towards the forest and vineyards below.
The well equipped kitchen with traditional wall tiles has been refurbished to comprise a new electric cooker, microwave and dishwasher, large fridge/freezer, toaster and kettle, together with a small table and chairs. It also contains a full range of pots, pans and kitchenware, crockery, cutlery, glasses and tea towels.
There are two trestle tables, one seating up to eight people and the other seating up to six people. The bistro table and two chairs are ideal for breakfast on the patio in the sunshine.
A narrow, but lovely terrace stretches the length of the front of the house and barn and is ideal for taking breakfast in the morning. Immediately in front of this is a lawned area, bordered by plants and a fig tree. Beyond this, to the right, is a shaded grass terrace located between the barn and the swimming pool, containing flower beds, stone wall, portable barbecue and outside lighting.
